Meet Joan.
Joan is a pianist and piano teacher from Texas. The oldest of 2 children, Joan began classical piano lessons at the age of 4 and was exposed to many styles of music, including jazz, blues, and many more. Growing up her radio always played Mozart, Louis Armstrong, and the Met Opera every Saturday. Joan loved classical music more than any type of genre she was introduced to.
As a teenager, Joan participated in Accelerated Christian Education's Texas State Student Convention where she competed in piano solos. In 2002, Joan won Third Place State Competition. The next year she came back stronger and won First Place State Competition for Piano Solo and won First Place for Music Composition.
Through her college years, Joan taught private piano lessons. She continued this through her 20's and 30's. In 2020, Joan launched her YouTube channel as well as launching her Online Piano Studio of PianoLessonsByJoan.txfunnel.com, where a community of students from across the world have signed up to learn from Joan's instruction. The platform features video courses, sheet music and other piano education resources.
